The 2026 remaster uses a completely overhauled interface rather than simply preserving the old presentation. The most important confirmed change is at character select: the game mode can be chosen there alongside the kaiju. Steam also confirms controller-focused navigation and nine interface languages. A separate PC demo mod can hide the HUD, but that is a community tool—not a confirmed built-in option or a full-release feature.
What the remastered UI changes
The redesigned interface supports a game with 12 playable kaiju, eight locations with day and night variations, single-player campaigns, local co-op, online multiplayer, and unlockable monsters, locations, and gallery items. Those features define the selections the new menus must present, but the available material does not document every screen or button path.
Do not use an interface guide for the 2002 release as a screen-by-screen map for the remaster. Even where the underlying arena combat retains the original design, the 2026 version changes the visual presentation and selection flow. Use current Remastered screen labels when following menu instructions.
The gameplay HUD should also be distinguished from the remastered graphics underneath it. Official descriptions confirm rebuilt visuals and quality-of-life improvements, but they do not provide a complete legend for every meter, icon, warning, or status indicator. An unlabeled element should therefore be identified from the current screen rather than assigned the meaning it had in an older version.
Character select is also the mode gateway
The character-select screen is not only a roster picker. The confirmed UI change allows the game mode to be selected from that screen. This is the clearest practical difference to remember when entering a match: if you are looking for the mode choice, check character select instead of assuming it lives only in a separate top-level menu.
The roster contains 12 kaiju, each with a distinct moveset. The game supports single-player campaigns, local play, and new online multiplayer, but this page does not turn those modes into one shared setup guide. Match size, invitations, split-screen behavior, and online matchmaking belong to the site’s dedicated multiplayer pages. Here, the UI takeaway is simply that mode selection and fighter selection are connected in the new flow.
The unlock interface also reflects a changed progression system. Monsters, locations, and gallery items can be unlocked in the order the player chooses rather than being tied to a fixed campaign-completion order. The supplied material does not state the exact menu labels, currency display, prices, or confirmation sequence, so no unsupported click path is given here.
Loading screens are part of the new presentation
The Remastered release has its own loading-screen presentation, and the supplied image set includes multiple identifiable Remastered loading screens. These are useful reference points when checking that a screenshot or guide belongs to the 2026 release rather than the original game.

A loading screen is not evidence for a menu option or gameplay rule by itself. Treat names or lore shown there as presentation text unless another current source confirms that they represent a playable character, selectable stage, or active mechanic.
Interface languages and controller support on PC
Steam lists full controller support, specifically lists Xbox controllers, and says the developers recommend playing with a controller. That supports controller-first UI navigation on the Windows version, but it does not establish the exact button prompts shown on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, or Switch 2.
| Language | Interface | Full audio | Subtitles |
|---|---|---|---|
| English | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| French | Yes | No | Yes |
| Italian | Yes | No | Yes |
| German | Yes | No | Yes |
| Spanish – Spain | Yes | No | Yes |
| Japanese | Yes | No | Yes |
| Korean | Yes | No | Yes |
| Simplified Chinese | Yes | No | Yes |
| Traditional Chinese | Yes | No | Yes |
The language table applies to the Steam listing. It should not be used to promise identical language packs or menu behavior on every console storefront.
Hiding the HUD in the PC demo
The only documented HUD toggle in the supplied material is a third-party mod for the Windows PC demo. It is not described as an official setting, and the documentation does not confirm compatibility with the November 3, 2026 full release.
For the demo mod, the default keys are:
- Caps Lock: toggle the entire HUD on or off.
- F1: toggle the map barrier visually. This changes its visibility, not the underlying barrier behavior.
- Home: open the ReShade interface used to change the mod’s keybinds.
The mod’s documented installation target is:
steamapps\common\Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered Demo\GZPro\Binaries\Win64
After extracting the mod files there, start the demo and use the assigned key. To change a binding, press Home, open Add-ons, choose Edit under ShaderToggler, assign the new hotkey, accept both confirmation prompts, and select Save all Toggle Groups.
To keep a toggle enabled when the demo starts, open the same ShaderToggler menu, enable Is active at startup, and save all toggle groups. This procedure applies only to the documented community mod. It does not prove that the base game has a native HUD toggle, that the mod works on consoles, or that it works with the full PC release.
